Olive Katherine Nicholson

Salem -Olive Katherine Nicholson, 72, formerly of Lisbon died at 2:45 AM Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Salem Care Center.



Born August 30, 1938 in Ford City, PA, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Esther (Stump) Cannon.



She had worked as a bus driver for the Robert Bycroft School for nine years. She had also worked at the Eagles and V.F.W. as well as the Morning Journal.



Baptist by Faith, she was a member of V.F.W. Post 4111 and F.O.E. Aerie 2216 Ladies Auxiliaries.



Survivors include six children: Wanda Jean (Jack) Grimes and O. Catherine (John) Hinton both of Lisbon, Michelle Nicholson of East Liverpool, Bruce English of Mingo Junction, Darrel (Ann) Jackson, Jr. of Columbiana, and James Leroy Jackson of Lisbon; sisters Madge Elliott of Fremont, CA, and Esther Gbur of Columbiana; and a brother John M. (Barbara) Cannon of Waldwick, NJ; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by a daughter, Darla K. Jackson, brothers Robert and Gilbert Cannon, and a sister Gladys Richards.



The family is having an open house from 2 to 8 PM Wednesday (today) at Katherine's home at 5251 S.R. 45.



Arrangements are being handled by the Weber Funeral Home.
