It is with heavy hearts that the family of Christopher Lee Fatherly, 56, of Boardman, announces his passing on Monday, June 15, 2026, following a lengthy illness.
Chris was an intellectual soul with a deep appreciation for life’s beauty and wonder. He was an adventurer, a gem collector, a gifted photographer, and a passionate musician. He proudly served his country as an SP4 in the United States Army during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Following his honorable discharge, Chris pursued his education at Youngstown State University, where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. Through hard work and dedication, he obtained his Professional Engineering License and built a respected career in his field.
Chris found joy in the simple, quiet moments of life—a cool breeze on a summer day, a leaf falling from an oak tree as it turned shades of orange, or the first snowfall of winter. Though he was a solitary man, he held deep love for his family, who will forever cherish his memory.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Gary and Shelly Fatherly; his sisters, Sonja Cuevas and Lindsey (Tom) Burkey; his nephews, Lee (Sara Williams) Woerther and Scott (Kayla Miller) Woerther; his niece, Juanita; and his great-nephews, Fox, Edwin, and Trevon.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara J. (Fowler) Fatherly, and his brother-in-law, Jorge Cuevas Jr.
At his request, there will be no formal service. In honor of the adventurous life Chris led, the family requests that any donations be sent to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America Western PA Chapter.
Chris will be deeply missed and remembered for his quiet strength, thoughtful spirit, and unique perspective on the world.
