Jack Leland Hartman

Jack L. Hartman, 85, formerly of Lisbon, passed away Sunday, August 6 in Mission, TX.
Born March 13, 1932 in East Palestine, he was the son of the late James and Eleanor (Ward) Hartman.
Jack had worked as a truck driver for many years for several companies including Johnson Mining and will be remembered for owning and operating Gasland Discount and Rite Rate Taxi in Lisbon.
He was a former member of St. Jacob United Church of Christ and the Lisbon Lions Club. He also bowled in Salem leagues and belonged to the Independent Hose Club, Salem F.O.E. Aerie 316, and Salem Elks. Jack never met a stranger. Car rides with the family were often interrupted with long conversations with people he would know along the way.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Lois A. (McMillan) Hartman; three daughters: Sherry Perry, Jacqueline Hartman, and Pamela Hartman, all of Lisbon, son Terry (Amie) Hartman of Carrollton, 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Otis Hartman.
There will be a celebration of Jack’s life at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 2 at the Guilford Lake Ruritan hall. A committal service officiated by Linda Grimm will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 9 at Lisbon Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by the Weber Funeral Home.
