Coatsville, PA- George L. (Larry) Lafferty, 84, formerly of Baltimore, MD, Lorain, OH, and Lisbon, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Freedom Village in Coatsville, PA.
Born October 17, 1933 in Lisbon, he was the son of the late George and Frances (Binsley) Lafferty.
He was a reference librarian at the Chester County Public Library until retiring.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was stationed at Ft. Leonardwood, MO. He was a 1952 graduate of David Anderson High School, a graduate of Mount Union College and Ohio Northern University with degrees in library science. He enjoyed classical music, playing the piano, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Mount Union Purple Raider fan. He loved his late pet cat Katie. He was Presbyterian by faith.
Survivors include his nephew, David A. (Kathryn) Lewis of Gavers, and his niece, Jeanne Scanlon of Lisbon.
He was preceded in death by his sister Louise L. (Don) Lewis.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Mary Jo Bruinooge officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Lisbon Cemeter
